Everyone here knows of the /sign, /notsigned system right?
Well I hope you do anyway, but at some ideas I'm just curious on how many people said, no and yes.
And depending on the length of the thread, it's not very cool to search through each and every post for a sign thingy.
So the idea here is to put a poll thingy on each suggestion thread (Since they are SUPPOSE to be suggestions so people can say yes or no). I bet some of you think that this will get abused.... uhhhh...... Well we can't see until we try and I don't think a single person would fill out 5+ register forms in order to cast multiple votes.
But the poll in my mind is to show other people who haven't seen the topic yet to see how many people agree or disagree with that idea.

There's a reason only staff can start polls, and it's not to prevent vote abuse. It's to prevent every one from starting random, useless polls on virtually everything.

i think its good, but only display the poll after a certian amount of intrest, it would stop anyone sifting through 10 pages of it just to count it up (even though some of the best for/against arguments are in there)

Why would you want to get the excact number of /signed and /notsigned posts? Do you see what other people say before deciding?

Well, we have been discussing this topic. Currently, we don't have a solid way of making it happen. However, if we do find one (which is hopefully soon), we are leaning towards a yes for this.

I find much of the signed/unsigned BS pointless. Most people make decisions on impulse, even ones that are harmful or unbenificial to themselves, so getting approval from random passing individuals doesn't really constitute much.

Beyond that, the people who attend and converse on forums are only a portion of the fanbase. There are those who play the game much more than the commenting portion of gamers instead of spending time writing about it, and those who haven't even begun playing who are just as important to draw to the game. Polling an isolated fraction of consumers is inaccurate.

In the end what you get is partial representation of mostly uninformed commentators which amounts to very little. Experience shows that it is most often the few who are right and the masses which are ignorant, and write the script to their own plight. I support justified commentary and conversation of which only sound imput is considered. Real progress is made by visionaries, not majority.
